Ulsan National University announced on the 27th that the Industrial-Academic Cooperation Group recently held a final performance report on the "2020 AI Learning Data Construction Project" supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT and introduced three commercial service technologies.

The project, which invested 2.3 billion won, including 1.9 billion won in state funds, was organized by Ulsan National University to secure global competitiveness in the data market for artificial intelligence learning, with eight organizations including Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency, Kyungpook National University, Seohong Tech, USIS, MMP, Human Drone Development and Dantnet.

Professor Cho Kang-hyun's team at Ulsan University's electrical engineering department developed a service to detect the same person by analyzing the body and color of the missing person's photos by taking pictures of them with drones equipped with human detection software. In addition, it also developed a service that analyzes density between vehicles and road areas around tourist attractions by using single shot multibox detector (SSD), an artificial intelligence learning model.

The national team of Seohong Tech, Kang Hyun-deok, has developed four systems for predicting abnormal behavior, including assault, wandering, fainting, and crowding of people in the city center.

A-Tech's Kim Jung-wan team has developed a technology that detects important information such as people in the video by filtering multiple forest learning data taken with drones. In particular, the technology has drawn attention as a service to find victims in dangerous places such as cliffs or injured people in bushes.

Cho Kang-hyun, a professor at Ulsan National University, said, "The combination of AI, a key technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and drones will revitalize major industries such as automobiles, shipbuilding, tourism resources, cultural contents, as well as cities, transportation, social culture, and economy."
