The Ulsan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation held the ICT-based Smart Plant O&M Industrial Technology Forum in the mid-level meeting room of the Industrial Complex on the 20th.

At the forum, Lee Il-woo, CEO of USIS Co., Ltd., and Jeong Pil-kwon, senior secretary for technology development at Ulsan Smart Plant O&M Company, announced the "Case of Technology Development."

USIS is a small and innovative company in Ulsan that is developing IoT-based petrochemical plant integrated operation and safety management system jointly with Shimji (CEO Jung Jae-wook).

While it is establishing an integrated operation platform through plant 3D modeling, it is planning to commercialize VR contents that monitor manufacturing processes, start-up operation, and safety inspection. Through this, real-time monitoring of manufacturing sites is possible through digital twin and sensor information analysis, and safety education using VR contents can contribute to the creation of a safe industrial complex.

A panel of experts from global companies and state-run research institutes agreed that small and medium-sized companies in the region will have sufficient growth opportunities if they provide solutions tailored to Ulsan, an industrial city optimized for plant O&M industries, in consideration of plant size and use.

Kwon Ki-yong, head of Ulsan Industrial Complex, said, "We will actively reflect the valuable expert opinions raised at the forum in the project to foster regional ointment industries in the second year to support small and medium-sized companies to enter new industries and manage smart safety of industries."
